Ryan's first modeling gig
Shawna was working with Becky Shannon, a photographer she met through her recent movie and commercial projects, and she decided to use Ryan in the photoshoot. The shoot was for a contest that Becky was entering featuring photography in the style of 'Avant Garde.' Avant garde describes something that is experimental, innovative, or trailblazing.
I was able to go to the shoot and watch Ryan when she wasn't in a shot. The day lasted from 12-9pm. There were several locations and a lot of prep work. I always assumed that models had it pretty easy, but I was wrong. Everyone involved was exhausted by the end of the day.
Shawna's work was amazing, and the model looked awesome. We were all pretty amazed at how well Ryan did. I expected her to be running all over the place the whole time. If a paticular shot was taking awhile, she would get a little annoyed, but she stuck each one out. There were times it seemed that she was actually enjoying having her pictures taken.
We will get all the pictures eventually, but here are the four that Becky entered into the contest. These were also shrunk down to fit into a email so I will replace these with higher quality versions when we get them.

Rembrandt in the making
A few weeks ago Ryan created some fantastic art that I'm sure you'll find in a SoHo art gallery soon. Ryan's inability to sit still for more than a second made painting and drawing a pretty big challenge, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. Many thanks go to the inventor of washable markers and paint.

Sleepy head
Woodward Park and the Tulsa Garten Center
I think it was a Saturday in April, Shawna was doing the makeup for a wedding party so Ryan and I got out and went to Woodward Park and the Tulsa Garten Center. It seemed like it was going to be a good opportunity for some great pictures. The park and the gartens would have provided excellent backdrops if Ryan would have stayed still long enough for me to take the pictures. I did get a few, and she had fun so it was worth it.

Sesame Street Live
We took Ryan to see Sesame Street Live in April. We knew she would have a blast no matter where we sat, but luckily we had front seats. She thought she was in heaven before the show started because of all the kids and Sesame Street paraphernalia everywhere, but she had no idea what was coming. When the characters came out, she screamed and shouted. We still have not seen her get so excited. We were close enough that she even got reach out and touch a few of the guys. Definitely a good day!
